George Foreman III wins

So far, so good for George Foreman III.

The son of the former heavyweight champion, called “Monk” by his family, stopped George Burrage at 1:10 of the second round of a scheduled four-round heavyweight bout Friday in Las Cruces, N.M. The fight was not televised.

Foreman, 26, is now 2-0 (2 knockouts) in his young career. Burrage is winless in six fights.

The younger Foreman, easing into his pro career for lack of amateur experience, stopped Clyde Weaver in the first round last month.

Foreman said before his pro debut that he planned to fight regularly to improve his skills and build experience.
