Sierra-Davis headline Top Rank Live! card

altSuper middleweight fringe contenders Francisco Sierra and Dyah Davis will face off in the 10-round main event of a Top Rank Live! card televised from Maywood, Calif., on Saturday.

Francisco Sierra and Dyah Davis sqaure off in the main event of a Fox Sports Net-televised card from Maywood, Calif., on Saturday. The winner of the 10-round super middleweight bout, which will also be televised on Fox Deportes, hopes to advance to contender status in the 168-pound division.

Sierra (23-3, 21 knockouts), a 23-year-old pressure fighter from Mexico, has won three consecutive bouts by knockout since being stopped in the first round by Edison Miranda last year. Former welterweight titleholder Jose Luiz Lopez and unbeaten prospect Don George are among Sierra's recent stoppage victims.

Davis (18-2, 9 KOs) is coming off an eight-round decision loss to Aaron Pryor Jr., however prior to that loss the 27-year-old boxer from Florida had won nine in a row.

The site of the Top Rank Live!, Maywood's Activity Center, was a popular club show venue during the last decade. The aditorium, which normally hosts basketball games, can seat up to 1,200 and has hosted boxing standouts such as current RING junior flyweight champ Giovani Segura and former titleholders Julio Gonzalez, Daniel Ponce de Leon, and Edwin Valero.

The Top Rank Live! co-feature is an eight-round lightweight bout between fringe contender Oscar Meza (20-4, 17 KOs) and tough journeyman Leo Martinez (15-14, 7 KOs). The Fox Sports broadcast begins at 6 p.m. PT/ 9 p.m. ET.

The undercard, which begins at 4:15 p.m. PT, features numerous hard-punching undefeated prospects, including 21-year-old Mexican heavyweight Andy Ruiz (7-0, 5 KOs), 20-year-old Brazilian junior middlewieght Patrick Teixeira (11-0, 10 KOs), and 22-year-old lightweight Jose Roman (8-0, 7 KOs), of Garden Grove, Calif.
