The fans say that Brandon Rios will take the WBA lightweight title from Miguel Acosta tonight in Las Vegas on Showtime.

Rios garnered nearly a 2-1 edge in the most-recent RingTV Poll, with 62.1 saying he’ll beat Acosta and 37.9 saying Acosta will win.

Most experts believe it will be a close fight.

Acosta (28-3-2, 22 knockouts) is a complete fighter with considerable experience against elite-level opponents. The Venezuelan has won 19 consecutive fights, his losses and draws coming early in his career.

Acosta will be making the first defense of the title he won by Paulus Moses in six rounds last May.

Rios, who is better known than Acosta in the U.S., made a big statement in his dominating victory over Anthony Peterson in September. Peterson was disqualified after repeatedly throwing low blows.

The Southern Californian stopped Omri Lowther in five rounds in his last fight.

The Acosta-Rios card will be televised at 10 p.m. ET (live) / PT (delayed).
