Greg Goossen, a former Major League Baseball player and older brother of Dan and Joe Goossen, has died at 65, according to numerous reports.

Goossen was found dead at his home in Sherman Oaks, Calif., on Saturday but no cause of death has been determined.

Goossen was described by his brothers as the best athlete and toughest among eight brothers. He was a dominating all-around athlete in high school but chose to pursue a baseball career.

Goossen, primarily a catcher and first baseman, played parts of six season with the New York Mets, Seattle Pilots/Milwaukee Brewers and Washington Senators between 1965 and 1970.

Mets manager Casey Stengel said famously about Goossen, "This is Greg Goossen. He's 19 years old, and in 10 years he's got a chance to be 29."

After his baseball career, Goossen worked as a stand-in for Gene Hackman and had bit parts in numerous films. He also worked as a private detective. And he took part in the family business by working at times with trainer Joe Goossen.
