The Andre Berto-Victor Ortiz fight on April 16 will likely take place in either the Fox Theater in Atlanta or the Home Depot Center tennis arena in Carson, Calif., promoter Lou DiBella said.

The Palms Hotel in Las Vegas is an outside possibility, DiBella said.

DiBella, who is based in New York, said he would settle upon a site by the end of the day Thursday.

Berto (27-0, 21 knockouts) lives in Winter Haven, Fla., but spends time in Atlanta. Ortiz (28-2-2, 22 KOs) lives in Oxnard, Calif., about 75 miles north of Carson.

Berto will be defending his welterweight title as part of a split-site doubleheader on HBO with the Amir Khan-Paul McCloskey fight in Manchester, England.
