altHard-punching lightweight standouts John Molina and Sharif Bogere will face off on a ShoBox headliner on May 13, sources have informed RingTV.com.

RingTV.com has learned of an up-coming lightweight fight that could produce a new player in the deep 135-pound division: once-beaten KO artist John Molina versus undefeated boxer-puncher Sharif Bogere.

The fascinating matchup will be a ShoBox: The New Generation headliner on Showtime on May 13, according to sources representing both fighters. The venue for the fight has yet to be decided, but the 7,000-seat Nokia Theater in Los Angeles is in the running.

Molina (21-1, 17 knockouts), a tall rangy puncher from Covina, Calif., has won three in a row (all by KO) since suffering a decision loss to veteran Martin Honorio in November of 2009. The 28-year-old fighter's last bout was a come-from-behind 11-round stoppage of fringe contender Henry Lundy that was televised on ESPN2.

Bogere (19-0, 12 KOs), a Las Vegas-based Ugandan trained by Ken Adams, is coming off a first-round knockout of Shamir Reyes on March 4.
