Berto-Ortiz to take place in Mashantucket, Conn.

altThe Andre Berto-Victor Ortiz welterweight fight will take place at Foxwoods in Mashantucket, Conn., promoter Lou DiBella said.

The welterweight showdown between Andre Berto (27-0, 21 knockouts) and Victor Ortiz (28-2-2, 22 KOs) has been booked at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Mashantucket, Conn., according to promoter Lou DiBella.

 The bout will be part of an HBO-televised split-site doubleheader that will feature a junior welterweight clash between Amir Khan (24-1, 17 KOs) and European title holder Paul McCloskey (22-0, 12 KOs) from MEN Arena in Manchester, England, a fight that will be shown on tape delay in the U.S.

Berto will be defending his WBC title. Khan holds the WBA belt.
