Michael Grant stopped Tye Fields with a single right hand at 1:06 of the third round in a scheduled 10-round heavyweight bout Friday night in Las Vegas. Grant (47-4, 35 knockouts) was coming off a unanimous-decision loss to Tomasz Adamek in August. He is trying to re-establish himself as a contender at 38. Fields (45-3, 41 KOs) had defeated four journeymen after a first-round knockout against Monte Barrett in 2008. |
