Roach breaks Pacquiao camp for Khan
Freddie Roach will break camp with Manny Pacquiao soon to finish up Amir Khan's preparation for Paul McCloskey and work the 140-pound titleholder's fight on April 16.
Trainer Freddie Roach plans to leave Manny Pacquiao's training camp in the Philippines to work Amir Khan's corner against Paul McCloskey on April 16 in Manchester, England. Khan also is training in Baguio City, helping Pacquiao prepare for his May 7 bout against Shane Mosley at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
"Freddie is giving up the training camp with Manny Pacquiao to be with me in Manchester," Khan told the London Daily Telegraph. "I take that as a real compliment, and a sign of how highly he thinks of me."
Khan, 24-1, with 17 knockouts, will be defending his WBA light welterweight title against McCloskey, who will bring a 22-0 record, and 12 KOs to MEN Arena.
