Ndlovu outpoints Molitor for 122-pound belt
Takalani Ndlovu captured the IBF junior featherweight title from Steve Molitor in his native South Africa on Saturday. Molitor had twice defeated Ndlovu in past title bouts.
Perennial junior featherweight contender Takalani Ndlovu defeated his arch nemesis Steve Molitor via unanimous decision in his hometown of Johannesburg, South Africa, on Saturday, to win the IBF 122-pound title.
Ndlovu (32-6, 18 knockouts), who had lost to Molitor via ninth-round TKO and unanimous decision in two previous title bouts that took place in Canada, won their third match on Saturday by scores of 118-110 (twice) and 116-112.
Molitor (33-2, 12 KOs), a two-time beltholder from Ontario, Canada, had won five in a row, including a title-regaining decision over Ndlovu last March, going into Saturday's bout. The 30-year-old veteran's only other loss is a fourth-round TKO to Celestino Caballero in November of 2008.
