The critically acclaimed FX series Lights Out won't be renewed for the next season after failing to attract the type of ratings the network was hoping for, according to the New York Times.

The boxing-based drama starred Holt McCallany as Patrick Leary, an ex-heavyweight champ whose financial woes have lured him back to the ring. The show attracted 1.5 million viewers for its debut, but FX plans to air the final two episodes and then cancel the series.
