Gamboa puts Solis down five times, stops him in four
|
Yuriorkis Gamboa punctuated a spectacular performance by stopping veteran Jorge Solis at 1:31 of the fourth round Saturday in Atlantic City, N.J. Gamboa put Solis down five times, twice in the second round, once in the third and twice more in fourth. Gamboa (20-0, 16 knockouts) took firm control of the fight the first time he hurt Solis (40-3-2, 29 KOs) and put him down with a right-left combination in the second round. Solis, who went eight rounds with Manny Pacquiao in 2007, didn’t have the tools to compete with a much-quicker, more-powerful fighter. |
