Abner Mares looked ripped and ready at a recent media workout, which is good news because the young contender will need to be at his absolute best to defeat titleholder Jospeh Agbeko in the finals to Showtime's bantamweight tournament on April 23. Promoter Oscar De La Hoya knows his fighter has a tough fight in front of him but he believes Mares' 12-round battles with Yonnhy Perez and Vic Darchinyan have given him the necessary seasoning to beat Agbeko.
