Welterweight prospect Danny Garcia easily outpointed Nate Campbell in a 10-round bout on the Marcos Maidana-Erik Morales undercard Saturday in Las Vegas.
Danny Garcia can add a victory over welterweight veteran Nate Campbellto his growing resume after a lopsided unanimous decision in a 10-round welterweight bout on the Marcos Maidana-Erik Morales undercard Saturday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
The scores were 99-91, 98-92 and 100-90 for Garcia (21-0, 14 knockouts).
Campbell (33-8-1, 25 KOs) did a lot of talking but very little punching to back up the smack. He has now lost three straight fights and looks as if his career is quickly coming to an end.
In other off-television fights, junior middleweight Mikael Zewski (9-0, 5 Kos) defeated Clint Coronel (4-2-2, 1 KO) by a split decision. The judges scored the bout 60-54 for Zewski, 60-54 for Coronel and 59-55 for Zewski.
And former Olympian Rakhim Chakkiev (9-0, 7 KOs) scored a TKO victory over Harvey Jolly (12-16-1, 6 KOs) at 2:18 of the third round of a scheduled 10-round cruiserweight bout.
Jolly took a standing eight count after several hard Chakkiev body shots in the second round.
