Andrade-Pryor headline May 6 Solo Boxeo card
|
Librado Andrade, THE RING's No. 7-rated super middleweight contender, will face prospect Aaron Pryor Jr., the son of former junior welterweight champ and hall of famer Aaron Pryor, in the 10-round main event to a Solo Boxeo card at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, Calif., on May 6. Andrade (29-3, 22 knockouts) hasn't fought since stopping former 168-pound titleholder Eric Lucas last May. Pryor (15-3, 11 KOs) is coming off a 10-round loss to undefeated prospect Edwin Rodriquez in January, however, before that setback the 6-foot-4 latecomer to the sport won an eight-round decision over once-beaten Dyah Davis. Andrade's younger brother Enrique Ornelas, who is coming off a decision loss to super middleweight titleholder Robert Stieglitz last November, is scheduled to appear in the eight-round co-featured bout of the May 6 Solo Boxeo card. Andrade knocked out Stieglitz in 2008. Also in action, unbeaten junior featherweight prospect Randy Caballero (9-0, 5 KOs), of nearby Coachella, Calif., will fight in a six-round bout on the Telefutura broadcast. |
