Once-beaten middleweight fringe contender Andy Lee is set to face veteran Alex Bunema in Rosemont, Ill., on May 18, according to Chicago-area promoter Bobby Hitz.

Promoter Bobby Hitz has announced that Andy Lee will face Alex Bunema in the main event of a May 18 show at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill.

Lee (25-1, 19 knockouts), a middleweight contender from Ireland, is fresh off a startling 10th-round knockout victory over previously unbeaten Craig McEwan, an HBO fight in which he was trailing on all scorecards.

Bunema (31-7-2, 17 KOs) has fought multiple name-brand opponents and boasts victories over former world champions Roman Karmazin and Vince Phillips.
