Daniel Geale defeated Sebastian Sylvester by a split decision to take Sylvester's IBF middlweight title Saturday in Neubrandenburg, Germany.

Daniel Geale of Australia defeated Sebastian Sylvester by a split decision to take Sylvester's IBF middlweight title Saturday in Neubrandenburg, Germany.

Geale (25-1, 15 knockouts) prevailed on two scorecards by scores of 118-110 and 118-112, while the third judge made it a split decision, awarding the fight to Sylvester (34-4-1, 16 KOs) 118-110.

Also, Eduard Gutknecht (22-1, 9 KOs) won the European light heavyweight belt with an eighth-round TKO over defending champion Danny McIntosh (13-2, 7 KOs), Karo Murat (24-1, 13 KOs) stopped veteran Otis Griffin (23-8-2, 9 KOs) in the 11th round of a light heavyweight bout, and cruiserweight Ena Licina (20-3, 11 KOs) scored a knockout over Michele De Meao (13-5, 4 KOs) at 2:04 of the opening round.
