Christopher Martin, an unbeaten featherweight prospect from the San Diego area, defeated Charles Huerta by a close, but unanimous decision Friday in Costa Mesa, Calif.

The judges scored it 99-91, 96-94 and 96-94 in Martin’s favor but some in the crowd thought Huerta  should’ve received the nod.

Martin (22-0-2, 6 knockouts) has won 12 consecutive fights.

Huerta (16-3, 9 KOs) has lost two consecutive disputable decisions. He lost a split decision to Raul Hirales in an eight-round fight in January.

On the undercard, junior lightweight prospect Ronny Rios (14-0, 6 KOs) narrowly outpointed Georgi Kevlishvili (12-2, 3 KOs) in an eight-round bout.
