European and Commonwealth bantamweight champion Jamie McDonnell of England stretched his three-year unbeaten run to nine wins, comfortably beating Kenyan Nick Otieno on Saturday in Sheffield.

European and Commonwealth bantamweight champion Jamie McDonnell of England stretched his three-year unbeaten run to nine wins, comfortably beating Kenyan Nick Otieno on Saturday.

McDonnell (17-2-1, 7 knockouts) who would have been stripped of his European title had he lost in Sheffield, secured a unanimous points victory over Otieno (21-7, 9 Kos) to successfully defend his Commonwealth crown for the first time.

McDonnell, 25, is from Doncaster, Yorkshire.
