Alvarez, Rhodes make weight

Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Ryan Rhodes, who fight Saturday in Guadalajara, Mexico, made weight on Friday. Alvarez, who will be defending his junior middleweight title, weighed 153 1/4 pounds, three quarters of a pound under the limit. He has never weighed more for a fight. Rhodes (45-4, 31 knockouts) weighed 152 1/2. Alvarez (36-0-1, 26 KOs) won the vacant WBC title when he outpointed Matthew Hatton in March. Adrien Broner and Jason Litzau, who are fighting in the 10-round junior lightweight co-feature, also made weight. Broner (20-0, 16 KOs) weighed 128 1/2, Litzau (28-2, 21 KOs) 129 3/4.
