Middleweight beltholder Peter Quillin could soon defend his WBO title against promotional stablemate Danny Jacobs.
Pacquiao opens as 8-1 favorite against Marquez
Manny Pacquiao, who is set to defend his welterweight belt against lightweight champ Juan Manuel Marquez in November, has opened as an 8-to-1 favorite to beat his Mexican rival.
Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao has opened as a lopsided 8-to-1 betting favorite to beat Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Nov. 12.
Bookmakers have listed Pacquiao at minus 800, with Marquez at plus 500, meaning an $800 bet on Pacquiao would net only $100, while a $100 bet on Marquez would bring a $500 reward.
Pacquiao and Marquez have met in the ring on two other occasions, both memorable fights. They fought to a draw in 2004, and Pacquiao prevailed by split decision in a 2008 fight.
