Arum: Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez III bound for HBO

altManny Pacquiao will return to HBO for his November defense against Juan Manuel Marquez after having debuted on Showtime with May's unanimous decision over Shane Mosley

Top Rank's Bob Arum has chosen to go with the HBO Pay-per-view over Showtime for the third meeting between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez on Nov. 12 in Las Vegas, according to a Tweet by Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports.

In May, Pacquiao decisioned Shane Mosley in defense of his WBO welterweight belt on Showtime pay per view, the first time that either fighter had appeared on the rival network.

Although Arum would not release details of the agreement, it is likely that the partnership will involve other affiliates of Time Warner -- HBO's parent company --  such as TNT, TBS, CNN and even assets such as the organization's online magazines.

Pacquiao-Mosley generated his highest pay-per-view buy rate figures, estimated at between 1.3 and 1.4 million  purchases.

The boost was assisted by Showtime's use of its CBS parent company, which broadcast promotional spots on network television, including during the NCAA basketball tournament in March.

CBS/Showtime also promoted the fight with several episodes of the Pacquiao-Mosley Fight Camp 360 reality series, similar to HBO's 24/7 programming.

In the past, Arum, had speculated that each of the network's proposals for Pacquiao-Marquez were worth "around $15 million," surpassing that of Showtime's previous $10 million for Pacquiao-Mosley.

With the Pacquiao-Marquez bout taking place in the heart of the Major League Baseball season and playoffs, there is a chance to promote the fight around those games, Arum has indicated.

Contrary to speculation, Arum told Iole that the decision to go with HBO will not have an impact on where the Dec. 3 rematch Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito lands.

Cotto will try to avenge his knockout loss to Margarito at New York's Madision Square Garden.
