Oscar De La Hoya presided over the final press conference for the junior middleweight showdown between WBC titleholder Saul Alvarez and Alfonso Gomez, which takes place in Los Angeles on Saturday.

A motivated Alfonso Gomez promised to upset the odds and defeat rising Mexican star Saul "Canelo" Alvarez at the final press conference for their WBC 154-pound title bout, which takes place in Los Angeles on Saturday. The 12-round junior middleweight showdown is part of the split-site pay-per-view broadcast headlined by the Floyd Mayweather-Victor Ortiz fight.

Alvarez, the unbeaten 21-year-old titleholder, had this to say about Gomez:

"He looks confident and in good condition, which guarantees that we will put on a good fight on Saturday."
