Taken during Wednesday's weigh-in, the shot is all at once funny, shocking and possibly strategical.

It made Mike Tyson draw back his arms and recoil: "Eww!"

The question: What is unbeaten six-time, five-division Floyd Mayweather Jr. doing with his mouth on the nose of WBC welterweight titleholder Victor Ortiz?

The answer: Who knows?

Maybe the nose knows.

Funnier still was watching Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe try to explain it, this, while being shown the photo for the first time by the author, Stacey Verbeek.

"The angle is kind of bad. He's not biting his nose. No. Somebody didn't crop that picture right," said an astonished Ellerbe.

"They probably didn't snap it right. He didn't bite him or attempt to try to bite him. For what? But it is a weird looking picture."

The photo left Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer speechless.

"That is so funny. No comment. Laughing out loud," said Schaefer. "But it seems like Danny Garcia is enjoying it."

Garcia, Ortiz's trainer, is shown on the far right in the photo behind Ortiz. From that position, Garcia said that he didn't see what was going on.

"I didn't see that at first. I just thought that they were close. But what do I think right now?" asked Garcia?

"Floyd's f---king gay. I don't know why he would do something like that. Use the gloves, man. Use the gloves."
