Middleweight champ Sergio Martinez and his promoter, Lou DiBella, discussed his tough title defense against Darren Barker and what could be next during the post-fight press conference on Oct. 1 in Atlantic City, N.J.

Martinez said he expected the difficult fight he got from Barker, whom he eventually stopped in the 11th round. He added that the British challenger was underrated by the press.

"The things they said about Barker are the same things they said about me when I came from Europe," he said.

DiBella said he hopes to get Martinez back in the ring by February or March of next year and he's eyeing a St. Patrick's Day weekend showdown with either Andy Lee or Matthew Macklin, both of whom are Irish, at Madison Square Garden.

Both Martinez and DiBella said they welcome a mega-fight with Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao.

"We're looking for the biggest name and the biggest possible promotion," DiBella said.
