LOS ANGELES -- Paulie Malignaggi outclassed Orlando Lora to win a unanimous decision in a 10-round welterweight bout on the Bernard Hopkins-Chad Dawson undercard Saturday at Staples Center.

Lora, a former Olympian from Mexico, was game but had neither the quickness nor the skills to cope with a boxer as polished and experienced as Malignaggi.

Malignaggi (30-4, 6 knockouts) stuck his jab in Lora’s face from beginning to end, scored consistently with 1-2 combinations and used his fleet feet to avoid significant punishment.

The judges scored it 100-90, 98-92 and 99-91. RingTV.com scored it 100-90.

Neither figher was hurt, although Lora seemed to stun naggi with a solid right in the first round.

Lora (28-2-1, 19 KOs) is now 2-2 in his last four fights. He was stopped by David Estrada in eight rounds last year.
