IBF bantamweight titleholder Abner Mares and former two-time beltholder Joseph Agbeko say they are ready to prove who's the better bantamweight and erase the controversy of their first fight, won by Mares, when they meet again in a Showtime-televised rematch from the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., on Dec. 3. Agbeko, who lost a close unanimous decision to Mares in August, believes he will get a fair shake from the referee in the rematch. Mares landed a dozen low blows and borderline punches to Agbeko that went un-penalized by the referee in the first bout. Mares, THE RING's No. 3-rated bantamweight, is confident of another victory over the Ghanaian veteran and is even predicting a knockout. Agbeko is THE RING's No. 4-rated bantamweight.
