WBC/WBO bantamweight titleholder Nonito Donaire expressed his frustration to press row immediately following his shutout decision over survival-minded 115-pound beltholder Omar Narvaez.

WBC/WBO bantamweight titleholder Nonito Donaire expressed his frustration to press row immediately following his shutout decision over survival-minded 115-pond beltholder Omar Narvaez on Saturday at WaMu Theater inside Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Donaire, THE RING's No. 1-rated bantamweight, wanted to knockout Narvaez and was upset that the unbeaten Argentine veteran refused to engage him during the 12 generally uneventful rounds.

"I was willing to get hit," Donaire said. "I wanted to bring an old-school fighter mentality for the fans at the Garden. The fans didn't deserve (a boring fight) and I apologize deeply."
