Junior middleweight prospect Alfonso Blanco remained undefeated by soundly out-working and out-pointing LeShon Sims to a unanimous decision in their Fight Night Club main event on Thursday in Los Angeles.
Blanco (7-0, 2 knockouts), a 25-year-old former amateur star from Venezuela, soundly outworked LeShon Sims en route to a one-sided six-round unanimous decision.

Guevara, a 24-year-old boxer from Montebello, Calif., won by three scores of 40-36, but the raw unorthodox attacks of Mohammad, a rugged 29-year-old Vietnamese fighter now based in Garden Grove, Calif., made for an interesting fight.
Two-time welterweight beltholder Paul Williams is being considered for a bout with WBC junior middleweight titleholder Saul Alvarez in September.
Blanco remains undefeated in night of shutouts

LOS ANGELES -- Junior middleweight prospect Alfonso Blanco topped a night of shutouts on the latest Fight Night Club show on Thursday at Club Nokia.
Blanco, who is based in Oxnard, Calif., won by three scores of 60-54. The busy 6-foot boxer had to walk down his constantly moving opponent, who stood two inches taller. Sims (5-10, 3 KOs), of Fontana, Calif., boxed well considering he had been out of the ring for nearly three years and had lost his last three bouts coming into the Fox Sports Net-televised main event. Sims also had to deal with a nasty cut over his right eye that was produced by a left hook from Blanco in the first round. He did enough moving and occasional punching to keep the constantly advancing Blanco from completely overwhelming him, but the outcome of the bout was never in doubt.
In the six-round co-feature, Ernesto Ocon scored a unanimous decision over Ricardo Malfavon. Ocon, a 24-year-old Ocon (5-0, 2 KOs) won by three scores of 60-54. Malfavon (1-6-1, 1 KO), of Santa Ana, Calif., stalked forward for much of the fight but was unable to land significant punches. In perhaps the best bout of the night, which was unfortunately not televised or part of the live stream on RingTV.com and Ustream.tv, Xavier Montelongo out-boxed, out-hustled and ultimately out-pointed game Jose Garcia over four intense rounds. Both young boxers were making their pro debuts. Montelongo, a 19-year-old former amateur standout from East L.A., won by three scores of 40-36, but Garcia, of Garden Grove, Calif., was not intimidated by the crowd favorite and never stopped trying to compete, despite his lack of amateur experience. In the opening bout of night, two debuting fighters, Santiago Guevara and Naphi Mohammad, put on an entertaining four rounder.
Guevara brought a decided edge in poise and technique to the contest thanks to a solid amateur background and years of training at the competitive Maywood Boxing Club in Maywood, Calif., but Mohammad displayed admirable spirit during the bout. The final bout of the evening, between debuting Luis Mora and Stephen Rubalcava, was the only fight that did not end in a shutout decision. Mora, of Los Angeles, stopped Rubalcava (0-7), of Exetan, Calif., at 2:08 of the first round.
