altFinnish heavyweight Robert Helenius kept his record perfect with a hard-fought split-decision win over Dereck Chisora.

English heavyweight Dereck Chisora failed to take the vacant European title after losing a split decision to undefeated WBA and WBO intercontinental holder Robert Helenius in Helsinki, Finland, Saturday.

However, former British and Commonwealth champion Chisora (15-2, 9 knockouts) demonstrated he can still play a significant part in the division as he matched home favourite Helenius, 27, all the way.

Judges Giuseppe Quartarone and Manuel Oliver Palomo scored the thriller 115-113 for Helenius, while Leszek Jankowiak gave it to Chisora, also 27,by the same margin.

Helenius, known as the Nordic Nightmare, stretches his perfect record to 17 wins, with 11 of those inside the distance.
