Khan, Bradley rematches are options for Peterson - Next

"We just talked about the rematch and what I thought about it," said Hunter. "Right now, the situation is simply this: I understand business, and I want to look at every offer that comes across the table before we make a decision on one of them."

Golden Boy Promotions CEO, Richard Schaefer, said the Staples Center in Los Angeles is being held for May 19, but the bout could be elswhere as well.

Since losing to Bradley, who dropped him in the third round, Peterson rose from two third-round knockdowns to salvage a draw with Victor Ortiz (28-3-2, 22 KOs) in a 10-round bout last December, and then earned a 12th-round stoppage of Victor Cayo (26-2, 18 KOs) in July.

But Bradley, his manager, Cameron Dunkin, and his promoter, Top Rank CEO, Bob Arum, have all expressed interest in a rematch with Khan.

"We would certainly entertain that fight. We would want to do that fight. It would be a unification fight. Lamont didn't do that well against Bradley when he fought him before, but Lamont now has a world of confidence," said Arum.

"Barry is a good friend of mine. I have always had great respect for Barry Hunter, and he, I believe has great respect for me. So, if he's interested in the fight, we'll certainly talk and get it made."

Dunkin agreed with Arum.

"It's an excellent fight, and I think that people would perceive that even though Timmy beat him like, 11 rounds to one the first time and dropped him. A lot of people had it 12-0, it was a very one-sided fight. But I'm sure that Peterson feels differently now that he can fight Timmy a different way, and with a different style or whatever," said Dunkin.

"I think that it's an excellent fight, and an excellent matchup. And Timmy loves to fight. He's ready to go again. He's not afraid of rematches. That's a very easy fight to make. I think HBO would love that fight. I think that Top Rank would love to that fight. And I know that from things that I've heard that they've said that Barry Hunter and Lamont, they want the fight. So, we're here and we're ready to go."

Bradley has won three straight since defeating Peterson, comprised of decisions over welterweight Luis Carlos Abregu and RING No. 4-rated junior welterweight Devon Alexander (22-1, 13 KOs), as well as an eighth-round knockout of former four-time titleholder Joel Casamayor.

Bradley dethroned Alexander as WBC junior welterweight beltholder by 11th-round technical decision, adding that crown to the WBO title that he already owned.alt

What would Bradley say to Peterson, face-to-face, in the wake of his victory over Khan?

"Come on, and you can get it again. I think that he needs to leave Amir alone for a while and let him whine a little bit and let him feel it," said Bradley.

"Because you know Amir don't give nobody a rematch. I think that Lamont Peterson should come and see Tim Bradley, man, and get some revenge. That sounds good to me."

Hunter said he would consider a bout with Bradley as well.

"Khan and Bradley are both attractive, as long as the numbers are right. But those are not the only options," said Hunter. "So we want to go through every last one of them before we make a decision. We've been careful all of this time, and we're not going to be reckless now."
