Exclusive Q&A: Hernandez to rejoin Marquez if he gets Pacquiao again - Next

RingTV.com: So are you in favor of more stringent drug testing procedures within boxing?

AH: Marquez was drug tested at different times. So, like I said, we're always in a position that if they want to do it, I have no problems with it. I'm okay with random, Olympic-style drug testing methods. I can always get in touch with [United States Anti-Doping Agency director] Mr. Travis Tygart.

I've worked with him over the past five years along with congress on procedures and things like that. If that's what they're asking for, then Marquez will definitely be up to them conducting the tests. I'm always welcoming new procedures.

But there are a lot of testing procedures out there that yield faulty results. If you're talking about the type of testing that they impliment in the Olympics, I think that whatever USADA uses would work. They use all of the scientific methods that are used all over the world.

So, USADA and WADA [World Anti-Doping Agency,] as far as I know, they have been working together. So, I'm always welcome to cleaning up the names of these athletes, but also, to regain and maintain the respectability of the sport.

RingTV.com: Are you looking to gain similar traction in boxing with fighters similar to that achieved by Conte with athletes such as Donaire and Berto?

AH: As we say in Mexico, you tend to shock people with the results. That's what we did. I'm not a loud and who always talks such as Victor is.

I don't think that I have to talk to tell the world who I am, you know? I'm a really good coach and the results speak for themselves. That's what I did.

Victor has always had the opinion to talk about whatever he wants to, but that's just the way that he is. I'm not going to worry about what he does. He's got his life and I have my life.

RingTV.com: Is your lawsuit still in play against Conte?

AH: Basically you can say that there still are legal issues going on with the lawsuit of defamation against Victor Conte. And you can just leave it at that.
