Lem's latest: Video preview of Fight Camp 360: Ortiz-Berto II

Showtime's Fight Camp 360: Ortiz vs. Berto II will air on Wednesday, Feb. 1, at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, detailing the events leading up to the rematch between former welterweight beltholders Victor Ortiz and Andre Berto. Click here to watch the video preview. Ortiz defeated Berto by close unanimous decision last April to win the WBC belt in what was named Fight of the Year by many boxing publications due to the action that found both men on the canvas twice, before being dethroned with a fourth-round knockout loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr. last September. Berto rebounded from the loss to Ortiz by knocking out IBF welterweight titleholder Jan Zaveck in the fifth round last September, the first stoppage of Zaveck's career. Berto vacated the IBF belt in order to take the return bout with Ortiz. KELLY PAVLIK IS 'TRAINING HARD' IN OXNARD Former undisputed middleweight champ Kelly Pavlik has trained for about two weeks in Oxnard, Calif., where he is working at the Robert Garcia Boxing Academy under the gym's owner and namesake, Robert Garcia. "Kelly's training hard. He's dedicated. He's doing two workouts a day. One in the morning with a strength and conditioning coach, and then one at 3 in the afternoon with me. He's looking really good. I think that we'll have something for the end of March for him," said Garcia. "Kelly is the one that told me that's a date that he wanted. He said that he wanted something at the end of March, and that he was going to talk to his manager, Cameron Dunkin, and that they were going to see if they could make it happen." Pavlik split with career-long trainer Jack Loew, and has left his native Youngstown, Ohio.
"What I've seen in the two weeks that he's been here is that he's 29 years old, he's hungry and he's motivated. When I sat down with him the first time he came in, the first thing that I asked him and his strength and conditioning coach, Cecilio Flores, is why are you here?" said Garcia. Robert Garcia also handles the careers of fighters such as junior featherweight Nonito Donaire, his own brother, unbeaten featherweight prospect Mikey Garcia, and lightweight Brandon Rios. Pavlik is leaving behind a troubled local life by vacating his hometown to train. Last month, he was arrested for a DUI in Canfield, Ohio, after having been treated and released from the Betty Ford Center for a drinking problem in January following a two-month stay. Pavlik hwas also involved in an altercation with his own brother in July. Garcia said he is not sure whether or not Pavlik will go at middleweight or super middleweight. "We weighed him before he started working out, and he was 173. If he's that light, we thought right away that we could still make 160 with him," said Garcia.
"But now that we're working with a strength and conditioning coach, we're going to start lifting weights and doing all kinds of exercises. And if he starts gaining weight due to the muscle, then we'll going to have to decide then. I think maybe two or three fights and I don't see why we can't win another title." Daniel Geale defends against Osumana Adama
IBF middleweight titleholder Daniel Geale (26-1, 15 KOs) will pursue his sixth straight win and his third knockout during that run when he meets Osumanu Adama on March 7 at the Derwent Entertainment Centre in Hobart, Tasmania. Isaac Chilemba faces Edison Miranda South African lightheavyweight Isaac Chilemba (18-1-1, 9 KOs) will face Edison Miranda (35-6, 30 KOs) on Feb. 3 at Texas Station Casino on Feb. 3.
