Lem's latest: Roach on reality series, Pacquiao; Ortiz-Berto II airs in Spanish

The second 30-minute episode of "On Freddie Roach," an HBO reality series which debuted last weekend, will again chronicle the daily life and routines of the five-time Trainer of The Year this coming Friday at 9:30 p.m. Eastern and Pacific time.

A former boxer whose Parkinson's disease is a result of his pugilistic past, Roach trains THE RING's No. 1-pound-for-pound titleholder Manny Pacquiao, WBC middleweight titleholder Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and former titleholder Amir Khan, among others, out of his Wild Card Boxing Gym in Hollywood, Calif.

"The reaction has been pretty good so far," the 51-year-old trainer said of the HBO series. "I was at the airport recently and people who saw me there were telling me that they watched the first episode and thought that it was pretty good and stuff like that."

Roach also said that he draws encouragement from the fact that he is demonstrating the ability to cope with his debilitating disease.

"I think that it's raising awareness," said Roach. "The fact is that I do have to deal with this on a daily basis. It just goes to show what we have to deal with each day."

WHO IS PACQUIAO PICKING?

Negotiations are ongoing for Pacquiao's upcoming defense of his WBO welterweight belt, and the guessing game continues.

The leading candidate appears to be Miguel Cotto, whose advisor, Gaby Penagaricano, spoke to RingTV.com concerning a potential rematch with Pacquiao as well as a potential bout against WBC welterweight beltholder Floyd Mayweather Jr..

Mayweather also remains a distant possibility, according to Pacquiao's advisor, Michael Koncz., despite previously failed negotations between the two.

Other potential opponents still include WBO junior welterweight titleholder Tim Bradley, Juan Manuel Marquez  and IBF/WBA junior welterweight beltholder Lamont Peterson.

Although Roach claims that he still isn't sure who Pacquiao, Koncz and Top Rank Inc. CEO Bob Arum are going to wind up picking, he responded, "no," as to whether or not he thought Cotto would face Pacquiao in a rematch.

"I think that since Cotto has been offered by Golden Boy Promotions [which handles Mayweather,] that he's in a pretty good position to take that fight," said Roach of Cotto, who was stopped in the 12th round by Pacquiao in November of 2009. "I think Pacquiao's going to wind up fighting Peterson or Bradley at this point."
