altTim Bradley's split-decision victory over Manny Pacquiao to take the WBO welterweight belt generated nearly $9 million at the gate.

Last Saturday's controversial split-decision win by Tim Bradley to dethrone Manny Pacquiao as WBO welterweight beltholder generated a live gate of $8,963,180 from 13,229 tickets sold at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada State Athletic Commission executive director Keith Kizer informed RingTV.com on Wednesday.

According to records provided by Kizer, there was also an additional gate of $249,000 from 4,980 closed-circuit tickets sold in Las Vegas. 2,070 tickets went unsold and 925 complimentary tickets were given away.

The Bradley-Pacquiao gate ranks 17th in the history of the state of Nevada behind Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s fourth-round knockout that dethroned Victor Ortiz as WBC welterweight beltholder in September, and ahead of Pacquiao's unanimous decision over Shane Mosley in May of last year.

Mayweather-Ortiz generated $9 million from 13,364 tickets sold, and Pacquiao-Mosley, $8,882,600 from 15,422 tickets.

Bradley (29-0, 12 knockouts), who earned a career-high purse of $5 million for the fight, ended a 15-bout winning streak that had included eight knockouts for Pacquiao (54-4-2, 38 KOs).
