The majority of RingTV.com readers who took part in a poll believe the youth and power of Lucas Matthysse will be too much for battle-tested veteran Humberto Soto when the two junior welterweights meet in the co-feature to Showtime's June 23 doubleheader.

The majority of RingTV.com readers who took part in a poll believe the youth and power of Lucas Matthysse will be too much for battle-tested veteran Humberto Soto when the two junior welterweights meet in the co-feature to Showtime's June 23 doubleheader from Staples Center in Los Angeles.

According to 38.5 percent of the vote, Matthysse (30-2, 28 knockouts), THE RING's No. 6-rated junior welterwieght, will be only the second fighter to knockout Soto, a rugged but savvy Mexican veteran who has held WBC titles at featherweight (interim), junior lightweight and lightweight.

However, 28 percent of the voters think Soto (58-7-2, 34 KOs) will prevail by decision; 17.1 believe the Los Mochis native will win by knockout. Only 14.5 percent think Matthyse will win by decision, ignoring the strong Argentine's underrated boxing ability (but perhaps recognizing that his only two losses were controversial decisions to Zab Judah and Devon Alexander).
