'Knockout Kings' quadrupleheader is sold out

Tickets are sold out for the “Knockout Kings” quadrupleheader topped by the Saul Alvarez-Josesito Lopez junior middleweight title bout on Saturday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The MGM Grand Garden Arena, the site of the four-bout Showtime card, has been configured for 14,500 seats and all of them will be filled on Saturday, Golden Boy Promotions announced on Friday. The four fights – Alvarez-Lopez, Jhonny Gonzalez-Daniel Ponce DeLeon, Marcos Maidana-Jesus Soto Karass and Leo Santa Cruz-Eric Morel – will be televised live on Showtime starting at 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT with preliminary fights to air live on Showtime Extreme at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. "We are extremely proud of our efforts to showcase the superstar talents of Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez on Mexican Independence Day weekend and the fans have responded by making it a sellout," said Chief Executive Officer of Golden Boy Promotions Richard Schaefer stated in the press release. "This quadruple-header is just another example of Golden Boy Promotions' efforts to bring the best and most exciting shows to our dedicated and loyal boxing audience. It is going to be a loud and raucous crowd in the arena Saturday night and one of these ‘Knockout Kings’ might receive a $100,000 bonus for their performance too.
