CLOSE CALL: Sugar Ray Robinson (left) was only 21 when this photo was taken on May 28, 1942, the day he fought Marty Servo at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Robinson never lost to a fellow welterweight, although he came close in this fight. He won a split decision but, according to The New York Times, many in attendance felt Servo was cheated. Servo would go on to win the world welterweight title. Robinson would go on to become the greatest fighter ever. Click the image for a larger version.
