Jacobs to return on Dec. 1 Cotto-Trout card
|
Middleweight contender Danny Jacobs, of Brooklyn, will return to action on the Dec. 1 undercard of a Showtime-televised main event featuring a defense by WBA "regular" junior middleweight beltholder Austin Trout against three-division titlewinner Miguel Cotto on Dec. 1 at New York's Madison Square Garden, according to Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer. A 25-year-old who has overcome paralysis caused by a large, malignant tumor on his spine, Jacobs (23-1, 20 knockouts) is coming off Saturday night's 73-second knockout of Josh Luteran (13-2, 9 KOs) at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. "Danny Jacobs will be coming back on the Dec. 1 card from Madison Square Garden," said Schaefer. Jacobs represented the fourth fight of a nine-bout event -- the first boxing show at Barclays Center -- whose main event featured Erik Morales being knocked out in the fourth round of a rematch with Danny Garcia.
