Undefeated lightweight contender Angelo Santana scored one of the most impressive knockouts of his four-year pro career with his fifth-round stoppage of previously unbeaten Johnny Garcia in the main event of a ShoBox: The New Generation show on Friday in Hallandale Beach, Fla.

Santana (14-0, 11 KOs), a 25-year-old southpaw from Cuba now living in Miami, dropped Garcia (13-1, 8 KOs) in the second round and early in the fifth before finishing the 30-year-old Michigan resident with a flush left midway through the fifth.

Referee Frank Gentile waved the bout off at 1:41 of the round without issuing a count.

In the co-featured bout of the Showtime broadcast, Joey Hernandez (23-1-1, 13 KOs) scored a unanimous decision over James Winchester (15-6, 5 KOs) in a 10-round middleweight bout.

The popular 28-year-old southpaw from Miami won by scores of 96-92 and 97-91 (twice).
