Robert Guerrero UD 12 Andre Berto: Quality fight. Tough one to call. I've gone back and forth on this one. Robert Guerrero is a generally under-rated fighter.
I've watched him closely though the years, and in fact called a number of his fights on TV earlier in his career. He has developed marvelously, and been able to keep getting better as he advanced up the weight ladder.
Andre Berto will have an edge in strength and this may cause Guerrero some real problems. I think Guerrero will feel Berto's power, more than the other way around, and may even find himself on the deck at some point.
Robert Guerrero W 12 Andre Berto: Quick thought says this could go either way, but upon further review I like Robert Guerrero by decision.
Andre Berto W 12 Robert Guerrero: Robert Guerrero surprised me in his fight with Selcuk Aydin. Although I picked Guerrero to win, I never imagined how physical he would be in the trenches and how well he would handle the move to 147.
Andre Berto MD 12 Robert Guerrero: I think it should be competitive, but I'm not sold on Robert Guerrero at welter yet.
Assuming Adre Berto has his form after getting popped for PEDs, and isn't flat, he's quicker and heavier handed if still with mediocre defense.
Robert Guerrero W 12 Andre Berto: I think we're going to learn a great deal about Robert Guerrero in this fight, the toughest of his career. He'll have problems with Andre Berto's quickness and explosiveness, which could cost him the fight.
However, I think that his superior skills and toughness will see him through a difficult night. Guerrero will win a very close decision.
Andre Berto W 12 Robert Guerrero: I think Andre Berto has some things to prove, and Robert Guerrero is going to be the victim.
Andre Berto W 12 Robert Guerrero: I'll have to go with Andre Berto in a very hard fought 12 round decision. I think Berto's speed and harder punches will ultimately the difference despite a very good effort by Robert Guerrero.
Robert Guerrero MD 12 Andre Berto: I'm picking Robert Guerrero by majority decision. I think Guerrero's activity and momentum will carry him to victory over Andre Berto.
Robert Guerrero SD 12 Andre Berto: Robert Guerrero proved against Selcuk Aydin that he can take a punch. That's saying a lot, because Aydin has heavy hands, despite an awkward style.
Berto could be rusty. So while Berto has an edge in speed and power, Guerrero is more determined to not lose. Guerrero by split decision.
By the slim margin of 8-6, the experts favor Robert Guerrero to edge Andre Berto and to successfully defend his interim WBC welterweight belt.
