WBA 154-pound beltholder Austin Trout had to strip down to make the junior middleweight division limit, but he did, weighing 154 pounds on the dot for his title defense against former champ Miguel Cotto, who weighed 153.6 at Friday's weighin.

WBA 154-pound beltholder Austin Trout had to strip down to make the junior middleweight division limit, but he did, weighing 154 pounds on the dot for his title defense against former champ Miguel Cotto, who weighed 153.6 at Friday's weighin that took place at the Affinia Hotel in New York City.

Their Showtime-televised fight will take place at Madison Square Garden tomorrow night (9:00 p.m. PT/ET).

"I knew I was going to make weight, I'm not drained, I'm good," Trout told Showtime commentator Steve Farhood. "Tomorrow night, I'm going to make (Cotto's fans) my fans."

Cotto's fans, who packed the ballroom in the Manhattan hotel, might disagree with that statement.

"I'm greatful for the fans," Cotto told Farhood. "I only have one thing to say to (Trout): 'Come with the fight of your life because you're facing the fighter of your life.'"

Both fighters in the co-featured bout of the Showtime Championship Boxing broadcast made weight. Undefeated featherweight prospect Jayson Velez, of Puerto Rico, weighed in at 125.8 for his scheduled 12-round bout against Sal Sanchez II, the nephew of late great Mexican featherweight champ Salvador Sanchez, who weighed in at 125.2.
