Austin Trout defeated Miguel Cotto by a unanimous decision in a 12-round junior middleweight fight Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Trout (26-0, 14 knockouts) outboxed Cotto (37-4, 30 KOs) from the beginning, using his height and hand speed to his advantage. Cotto has his moments in Rounds 3-6 but Trout took firm control in the second half of the fight to win going away.

The judges scored it 117-111, 117-111 and 119-109.
