Former junior featherweight titleholder Rico Ramos will be after his second consecutive victory against unbeaten Ronny Rios on Jan. 11 at Fantasy Springs Casino on Showtime.
Undefeated junior lightweight Ronny Rios, of Santa Ana, Calif., will meet once-beaten former titleholder Rico Ramos, of Pico Rivera, Calif., in the Jan. 11 main event on ShoBox: The Next Generation from the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, Calif., Golden Boy announced on Tuesday.
A 22-year-old former national amateur champion, Rios is 19-0 with nine knockouts heading into the clash with Ramos (21-1, 11 KOs).
Ramos, who is 25, rebounded from a sixth-round knockout loss by Guillermo Rigondeaux that dethroned him as WBA beltholder in January with a majority decision victory over Efrain Esquivias in June.
In the co-featured junior middleweight clash of unbeaten fighters, hard-hitting Daquan Arnett (9-0, 6 KOs), of Winter Park, Fla., will pursue his fifth knockout in his six fights against Brandon Quarles (9-0, 2 KOs), of Alexanderia, Va.
Arnett, 20, will be in his ninth fight of the year against Quarles, 26, having fought once per month since May.
Arnett's eight wins during 2012 have included six knockouts, including a fourth-round stoppage victory in his last fight against previously unbeaten Jeremiah Wiggins, who dropped him in the third round.
The card will also include the return of bantamweight Randy Caballero (17-0, 9 KOs), of Coachella, Calif., a 22-year-old who will be after his third knockout in four fights against an opponent to be determined.
Doors will open at 6 p.m., with the first bell sounding at 6:30 p.m., and the telecast to begin at 11:15 p.m. ET/PT, being delayed on the West Coast.
Tickets are priced at $25, $35 and $45, and are available at the Fantasy Springs Box Office, by calling (800) 827-2946 or online at www.fantasyspringsresort.com.
