altWBO middleweight titleholder Peter Quillin will make his first defense against Fernando Guerrero on the Feb. 9 undercard of a main event featuring RING junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia and Zab Judah.

Golden Boy Promotions has formally announced the finalized first defense by WBO middleweight beltholder Peter Quillin against Fernando Guerrero on Showtime from Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Feb. 9, a clash that is scheduled to happen on the undercard to the main event featuring former champ Zab Judah's challenge for the RING, WBA and WBC junior welterweight championships of Danny Garcia

Garcia is unbeaten at 25-0 with 16 knockouts, as is Quillin at 28-0 with 20 stoppages going up against Guerrero, who is 25-1 with 19 knockouts.

Also on the card is 160-pound prospect Danny Jacobs (24-1, 21 KOs) against an opponent to be determined, according to the announcement.

On the Showtime Extreme portion of the card, Brookklyn's Dmitry Salita (30-1-1, 18 KOs) will fight at 152 pounds opposite Hector Camacho Jr. in an event that will "somehow have a tribute to Hector Camacho Sr. as well," said Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer, referring to the boxer who died in November.

Other undercard fights will include the New York professional debut of Staten Island's 2012 United States Olympian Marcus Browne in a four-round light heavyweight fight as well as junior middleweight Boyd Melson (10-1-1, 4 KOs), of White Plains, N.Y.

GOLDEN BOY OUT-BIDS TOP RANK FOR ERISLANDY LARA-VANES MARTIROSYAN

Golden Boy Promotions out-bid Top Rank, $410.000-to- $62,500 on Friday for the right to promote a WBC junior middleweight eliminator rematch between Erislandy Lara (17-1-2, 11 KOs) and Vanes Martirosyan (32-0-1, 20 KOs), who battled to November's ninth-round, technical decision draw after an accidental clash of heads caused a cut over Martirosyan's left eye and forced the verdict to go to the scorecards.

The winner of Lara-Martirosyan II will become the mandatory challenger to WBC beltholder Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (41-0-1, 30 KOs), according to WBC Seceretary General, Mauricio Sulaiman.

"Now, all of the paperwork will start, so we have to send everything out. They have some time to get the contracts signed for the fight," said Sulaiman.

"They have to have the contracts signed by Feb. 5, I believe. That's when they have to have the signed contracts of both fighters. From that point, they have 90 days to put on the fight."

In the meantime, Alvarez, a 22-year-old Mexican, and Golden Boy Promotional stablemate Floyd Mayweather Jr., holder of the WBC and WBA welterweight and 154-pound belts, respectively, have each targeted May 4 for his return at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

In addition, Mayweather (43-0, 26 KOs) and Alvarez have said that they want to fight on Sept. 14, potentially, against one another. The dates fall on the two traditional Mexican holiday weekends -- Cinco De Mayo and Mexican Independence Day, and with their big names, Alvarez and Mayweather could bring to themselves unprecedented attention to themselves.

On Dec. 18, said Sulaiman, there will be a similar purse bid for a defense by WBC junior featherweight titleholder  Abner Mares (25-0, 13 KOs) and Victor Terrazas (36-2-1, 21 KOs), a winner of 10 straight fights, seven of them by knockout.
