Welterweight prospect Kevin Bizier remained undefeated with a technical eighth-round stoppage of former lightweight titleholder Nate Campbell in a Friday Night Fights main event in his home region of Quebec, Canada.

Campbell (36-10-1, 26 knockouts), a 40-year-old veteran who has become a junior welterweight gatekeeper in recent years, was game but woefully undersized againt Bizier (20-0, 14 KOs), who simply imposed his size on the crafty Florida native.

Campbell claimed his oft-injured lower back was hurt when the two were grappling in the second round of the ESPN2-televised bout. After the eighth round, the pain became too severe and his corner stopped the bout.

Campbell, who took the bout on one week notice, said he was OK after the bout and planned to continue fighting but at junior welterweight.

"I'm going to 140 where I can fight, where they don't come in at 160 pounds (on fight night)," he told ESPN's Bernardo Osuna. "I'm a fighter. Fighters win and fighter's lose. I took this fight on seven days notice, 13 rounds of sparring against a giant who had six weeks to prepare."

In the co-featured bout of the FNF broadcast Baha Laham edged out fellow unbeaten Canadian prospect Tyler Asselstine via razor-thin 10-round majority decision. Laham (11-0-1, 4 KOs), of Montreal, beat Asselstine (12-0, 7 KOs), of Toronto, by scores of 96-94, 96-95, 95-95.
