Lem's latest: Hernandez-Harrison scores fourth straight knockout

altWashington, D.C., resident Dusty Hernandez-Harrison scored his fourth straight knockout victory to remain unbeaten this past Saturday.

Dusty Hernandez-Harrison, of Washington, D.C., weighed a career-high 149 pounds as he scored his fourth straight knockout victory in the third round against Kelly Wright, of St. Louis, Mo., this past Saturday at the Chase Center in Wilmington, Del.

In victory, Hernandez-Harrison, who is only 18, improved to 12-0 with his eighth knockout win as Wright fell to 4-11 with three stoppages following his 10th consecutive loss.

The son of a Puerto Rican mother and an Irish father, Hernandez-Harrison is expected to return to the ring on Feb. 23 at Bally's in Atlantic City.

 

ROBERTO ORTIZ-FIDEL MONTERROSA FIGHT ON SATURDAY

Unbeaten junior welterweight Roberto Ortiz, of Torreon, Mex., will meet Colombia's Fidel Monterrosa on Saturday night at the Dome of the Municipal Palace in Tulum, Mex., in a clash that will televised on Fox Deportes in the United States and on Televisa in Mexico.


Ortiz, 27, will try to improve on his record of 27-0-1 that includes 22 knockouts against Monterrosa, a 24-year-old with a mark of 29-6 that includes 23 knockouts.

In the lightweight co-feature, Culiacan, Mexico's Jorge Romero (24-4, 21 KOs) will pursue his eighth consecutive win and his seventh straight knockout against Fidel Maldonado Jr. (14-2, 11 KOs), of Albuquerque, N.M.

Romero is 22, and Maldonado, 21.

The event is being promoted by Golden Boy Promotions.
