Broner, Rees make weight for WBC lightweight title bout

Adrien Broner and Gavin Rees easily made weight for their WBC lightweight title bout on Saturday in Atlantic City. Broner weighed in at 134 pounds, while his challenger Rees tipped the scales at 134.5 during Friday's weigh-in.

Boner-Rees will take place at Boardwalk Hall and will be televsied live on HBO (10:30 p.m. PT/ET) in the U.S.

Super middleweights Sakio Bika and Nikola Sjekloca, who make up the co-featured bout of the HBO broadcast, also weighed in for their WBC title elimination bout. Both fighters weighed 167.5 pounds.

Demetrius Hopkins and Charles Whitaker also made weight for their undercard bout. Whitaker, the USBA junior middleweight beltholder, weighed in at the division limit of 154 pounds. Hopkins, a former title challenger at 140 pounds, weighed 152.5 pounds.

Former title challengers Vicente Escobedo and Edner Cherry also made weight for their junior lightweight showdown on the undercard. Both veterans weighed in at 129.5 pounds.
