Nathan Cleverly dominated Robin Krasniqi en route to a one-sided decision Saturday in London.
Cleverly, the WBO light heavyweight titleholder, outclassed Krasniqi in every respect. The Welshman threw and landed an enormous number of punches to both the head and body, rarely allowing the German to get his own punches off. Cleverly threw 1,047 punches, according to punch stats.
Krasniqi was resilient, surviving the constant onslaught, but was never really in the fight. The judges scored it 120-108, 119-109 and 120-108, meaning only one judge gave Krasniqi a round.
Cleverly (26-0, 12 knockouts) is hoping to fight IBF beltholder Bernard Hopkins. Krasniqi (39-3, 15 KOs) hadn’t lost in seven years but never faced a fighter at Cleverly’s level.
A full report will follow shortly.
