The Tomasz Adamek-Kevin McBride pay-per-view fight, originally scheduled for April 23, has been moved to April 9 at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., according to a press release.
The move was made when Juan Manuel Marquez and Erik Morales were unable to come to terms for a fight on that date and because it fell on the Saturday before Easter, the release said. Adamek is a devout Catholic.
Morales will fight Marcos Maidana on April 9 in Las Vegas on pay per view, meaning two pay-per-view cards will take place the same night.
“We expect that the pay-per-view audiences for the Adamek fight and the Erik Morales fight … will consist of entirely different people,” said Kathy Duva, Adamek’s promoter. “The beauty of pay per view is that everyone can choose to watch whatever event they prefer. There are so many interesting fights scheduled this spring that it is very hard to match an optimum pay-per-view date that also works in a big, busy arena like Prudential Center.”
